After a surprisingly decent weekend against BU and BC last weekend, the Huskies are back to the drawing board after an extremely disappointing weekend. Despite having multi-goal leads in the 3rd period of both games, the Huskies settled for a tie and a loss and squandered away precious Hockey East points.
The Huskies unfortunately have a long history of what they suffered this weekend: they just can’t play a full 60 minutes of hockey. This year there’s been a lot of explosive starts followed by sitting back and letting their opponents rally.
This is an unfortunate time of the year for the Huskies- the next two weekend they only play one Hockey East game per weekend while most of their opponents play two. Vermont can strengthen their hold on 8th place and Maine could climb to 9th and relegate the Huskies to 10th. There’s simply no more time for the Huskies to squander points, they need to play a full game every game for the rest of the season if they want to make the playoffs.
