Tonight takes on the Number 1 team in the nation, Boston College at home. A sellout game, this game has been hyped all week. BC and NU have battled ferociously over the past few years, usually ensuring the games are tight affairs and go right down to the wire.
While I thought Belonger and Morra were good on Wednesday, I think Madigan elects to go with some experienced 4th line forwards to bolster the defense. Marshall has played for 3 years, and Stone has been around for 2 years, so their experience will be much-needed against a fast-paced BC offense.
No changes here. The defense did a pretty solid job against Merrimack so I think Madigan keeps it as is. Rawlings stays in goal of course.
On paper, Northeastern and BC have similar strengths and weaknesses. Both have stacked forward corps, and young and inexperienced defensive groups. Northeastern needs to strike fast before the young BC defense tightens up. Northeastern also needs a very solid game from both the defense and Rawlings, who will likely be tested heavily against BC. As with Merrimack, if the forwards can put up a lead and the defense and Rawlings can stand tall, Northeastern can certainly win this.
