Summary:

Maine managed a 4th place finish last year thanks to a high powered offense lead by Flynn, Diamond, and Abbot. Maine had the 3rd highest scoring per game in the league, and while their goalie was average, they scored more than enough goals to drive their success. However, with Flynn and Abbot graduating and Mangene signing early, Maine has lost 50% of their goals scored. Diamond is returning, but the major caveat here is the ridiculous amount of penalties he takes, amounting for 16% of all penalty minutes taken by Maine last year. So while Diamond will certainly lead Maine’s offense, his penalty-issues could keep him out of crucial parts of the game. Maine has some strong forwards like Adam Shemansky and Mark Anthoine that can step up, but they’ll likely see some decreased offense this year after losing some big guns, and unless the defense/goalie steps it up, they could be looking at dropping down.
