There is absolutely nothing surprising about this weekend’s games. Northeastern lost the same way it has every game, and in truly fitting fashion lost in overtime Saturday (as it always seems to do). It lost the same way it always loses: non-functioning power play and lack of a coordinated effort in trying to apply offensive pressure.
Really, you’d have to have amnesia to have any inch of surprise about this series. I won’t waste any more time describing the same problems. The real problem is the lack of any improvement. These are the same problems we talk about every week, and yet nothing changes. And that’s why we’re on the outside looking into the playoff race.
