Tonight Northeastern faces off against the Riverhawks. UMass Lowell just came off a 3-2 win against Boston College. UML and Northeastern are both riding 5 game winning streaks, so this will be an interesting matchup.
UMass Lowell has a pretty solid offensive core, led by Riley Wetmore and Matt Ferreira, and has the second highest goals per game in the league. The Riverhawks have a good spread of offense, much like we’re seeing with Northeastern. They have scoring threats on their first 3 lines, and their fourth line is a traditional grinder line with a touch of scoring threat. UML plays solid team defense as well, blocking lots of shots, and clearing the zone.
This is going to be an important game, pitting two teams with recent success against each other. Lots of scoring potential, solid goaltenders, and likely a great game to watch.
Northeastern needs to start off fast, scoring early to set the mood, and go from there. Play a consistent game is necessary, and team defense is a must. Put quality shots on goal, and force the goalie to make mistakes. If we’re going to win, we’ll need to follow through with those things.
