Friday Recap: Well that really got out of hand fast

Well that was unexpected. Scoring early in the 1st and 2nd periods, late in the 1st, and pounding on Notre Dame even when the game was essentially over.

Fun with Math:

-2 Huskies scored playmakers (3 assists): Steve Quailer and Ludwig Karlsson

-8 Huskies has multi-point games

-only 7 Huskies (including Rawlings) didn’t notch a point

-This was the worst loss for Jeff Jackson during his 7 years at Notre Dame

-All 9 goals came on 5×5 (can you imagine if the PP worked well)

-The game-winning goal was scored 4 minutes and 13 seconds into the game

-2 players notched their first collegiate goals: Adam Reid and Dan Cornell

The most important thing here is that the Huskies didn’t sit back. They jumped ahead early didn’t get lazy. They kept scoring, poured the pressure on, and tore apart the Irish. This is critical, and something I think we’ve missed in the past. We’ve lacked that killer instinct to finish off an opponent when they’re down, and it was great to see it last night. An all around terrific game, and hopefully a good sign for things to come
