This weekend, Northeastern travels out West for a pair of games at Notre Dame. Notre Dame is one of the strongest team this year, tied for the #2 spot in the polls with BC, and has beaten BC earlier this season.
Notre Dame sports a fearsome offense, with 3 players scoring over a point a game: TJ Tynan. Riley Sheahan, and Anders Lee. Notre Dame’s top 2 lines are pretty scary, and Northeastern will have to play hard to keep up with them.
Notre Dame’s goalies are less fearsome, with both Steve Summerhays and Mike Johnson sporting middling numbers. Northeastern will have to pressure them a lot, and try to pounce on opportunities in order to score.
Notre Dame is not a team to be taken lightly in the slightest. Northeastern needs to come out, score early, and show that they’re not afraid to take it to them. Utilize all 4 lines so our top guys are rested for the later part of the game, which we’ve done well recently. Play good team defense and shut down their top 2 lines, while simultaneously keeping our top guys open for the game will be hard, but important if we want to win.
