Saturday Preview: Vermont

After a terrific 5-2 victory of Providence last night, Northeastern faces Vermont at home. If there is any team that started off worse than us it was Vermont. Dead last in goals scored, goals against, penalty kill, and 9th in the PP. So Northeastern’s really gotta win here.

Hopefully, the Huskies can pick up where they left off last night. Score early, and throw Vermont off its game early. With Vermont’s terrible PK, try to capitalize on that and score a goal or two through that. Keep up the tight defense we saw last night. Basically, keep them off balance and reacting to us all game.

Mike McLaughlin might be out tonight with a fractured jaw. I’d suggest putting Dongara back. He’s got speed and stick handling skills that I don’t think Vermont will be able to handle. Put him in and let him wreak havoc on Vermont’s defensive system.

Time to get things done tonight. Score early, score often, and don’t let up.
