Yesterday, Northeastern added Defenseman Colton Saucerman from the Lincoln Stars. Saucerman was committed to UMass Lowell, but decommitted after the coaching change. In 4 games for the stars, Saucerman has a 1-1-2 line. He’s a smaller guy, at 5’9”, so I expect him to be a more offensive guy.
Saucerman’s addition is significant for a number of reasons. First, don’t expect to see Ryan Renz on campus next year. While he was a major recruiting victory over Miami and North Dakota, he has since regressed, bounced around the BCHL, and really not impressed. While he’s not off our recruiting list yet, I would be more surprised to see him than not see him. We’re also probably just about out of money for next year, so any more additions will likely mean that the coaching staff expects to lose someone. The only person left I’ve heard we’re recruiting is KJ Tiefenwerth, a Forward in the EJHL who decommitted from BC after they pushed back his arrival.
